Summer Solstice, Allergies, Favorite Day

The second best day of the year. June 21. It was a beauty in Mossyrock, today. 75 degrees, slight breeze, mostly clear sky with occasional clouds drifting by. A perfect NW day. The only way it could have been better is if we had been racing yachts on Bellingham bay. We stayed up late tonight and went out into the yard to look for faries. Didn’t see any, but the kids are sure they heard some. We had three excited kids when we got back inside.

The allergy season is upon our household. I usually get hit in late May, and it lasts through June. This year, my watering eyes and sneezing didn’t start until June 16. It hit M, also. She gets to rubbing her eyes and they puff up and her poor little face turns red. We take a break and head to the bathroom to gently wash faces, necks, hands and arms in hopes of reducing the dreaded pollen load on our bodies. I really feel sorry for her. If any of you have a bullet proof solution, please let me know. I’ve tracked the tree/weed/grass/mold counts and I think our problem is mold/grass. I’ll keep tracking to see if I can confirm.

I’ll send a free lip balm to the first five folks to guess my most favorite day of the year.

Later, Brad
